We have partnered with the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit to implement a Walking School Bus.   Students will be picked up and escorted by trained leaders from the school and then travel by a designated route that has been surveyed and approved by the school boards, school staff, the OPP, health unit and LifeFit Athletics staff.    At the end of the program, your child may be picked up, or released to walk home, as per your instructions.

Facilitated by trained NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) leaders,  children will have to opportunity to participate in organized games and free play.   Activities such as team challenges, relays, co-operative games, parachutes, modified sports make up the bulk of the programming an allow all kids to have fun and feel challenged no matter what their athletic background (or lack thereof).

You will be asked as part of registration if you require transportation.  Only a single registration will be needed for both the program and the walking school bus.

Why Chose LifeFit Athletics?

We believe that the quality of the experience is of the upmost importance. For that reason, all of our staff is fully trained and qualified in their roles. They are certified in first aid and in various sports by the National Coaching Certification Program of Canada. We use a maximum ratio of 1:8 to ensure that every child receives the attention that they deserve. Our business is fully licensed, permitted and insured and follows the guidelines of SafeKids Canada. The staff is all police screened and we do not utilize high school volunteers. But most of all, we are about introducing youth to physical literacy; “Physical literacy is the motivation, confidence and physical competence that will result in engagement in physical activities for life.” , so that they can enjoy the benefits of being active in whatever sports they chose to do.
